Popsicle Stick Puzzles

*****Ahhhhhh!!!! I've been featured!! Can you believe it?? I couldn't when I saw it! How Does She actually mentioned this idea on their 10 Cold Day Ideas to Keep the Kids Busy post. I can't believe it!! Thank you, thank you whomever thought this was a fun idea!! *****

So lately I've seen popsicle stick puzzles popping up all over blog world. I think the first time I saw it and thought, "That's an AWESOME idea!" was after this reversible puzzle craft on MADE.

My little guy has been having some health problems and last night we found ourselves in the Emergency Room again. Our 4 year old daughter was with us and pretty soon, she needed some entertaining! I remembered the MADE post and grabbed some tongue depressors. My drawing is less than stellar- I'm definitely not an artist, but it kept her entertained for a little while.

Today, while the kids were napping, I had some down time and decided to make some 'real' puzzles for our hospital bag. It was really simple and took me just a few minutes. I happened to have a few old photos, some colored jumbo popsicle sticks and the modge podge. So the project was free (yippee!)

And after a few minutes of cutting (with my paper cutter, I can't cut a straight line to save my life) and gluing, I had 6 stick puzzles ready to go.

Sure, we may look a tad silly (my husbands eyes are not that far from his nose! and my eyebrows aren't that high either!),

and my poor Grandmother doesn't look this silly either,

but it's something that will keep her entertained the next time it's needed.

Quick, easy, cute and serves a purpose. My kind of craft.
